Welcome to The Cavan Academy of Music

My name is Thérèse McCartin and I am the Academy’s owner and director of music. The Academy was established in September 2003 and has grown year by year to the extent that we now have 250 students enrolled.

Located at College Street in Cavan Town, we offer a range of private and group music lessons to children, teenagers and Adults. We also have some fantastic Fun Group Classes for our Little Ones, with our Parent/Baby/Toddler groups catering for as young as 3 months. See our Early Years programme.

Our general ethos is to pass on a love for music to our students through friendly and informal tuition. We encourage students to go through formal exams as this approach sets targets and goals which encourages further development of their chosen instrument. All levels taught from Beginner to Diploma.
